THE PROJECT

We worked with the International Cotton Advisory Committee in Washington DC.

The project was to create a series of 360 Virtual Reality films to encourage cotton farmers in Africa and India to farm in a more sustainable and economically viable way. By using less chemicals on their fields, and by using natural farming methods, smallholder farmers can increase their income and help protect the environment.

Combining 3D extreme macro photography of tiny insects and 8k 360 VR was a challenge that had never been attempted before at this scale. New workflows were developed and groundbreaking stereoscopic filming equipment was employed to show farmers what the insects in their cotton fields really look like.

When finished, the films were distributed via the cloud to the outreach teams who were able to upload to groups of headsets.
